This adorable vintage souvenir cup and saucer from Minnesota is in excellent vintage condition. It is hand painted pottery, which was made in Japan. It has Paul Bunyan with his ax and blue ox. There is no paint damaged, and it looks like the paint was applied before the final glaze finish was applied. It has no cracks, chips, fleabites, or stains on the set. The saucer is 3 1/4 inches by 3 1/2 inches. Saucer is more an oval shape and not perfectly round which was done when the clay was still moist and soft. The cup is 1 1/5 inches tall and 2 3/8 inches wide with the handle and without the handle, it is 2 inches wide. It looks like the set was handmade and not made by a press or machine. This adorable set would be the perfect addition to anyone’s souvenir collection. My best guess for the set’s age is it was made about the mid-50’s.
